Hi, I’m Jackie!

I’m a speech-language pathologist with a focus on gender-affirming voice training.

Who I Am

I am a speech-language pathologist in Northampton, MA with over a decade of experience working with a wide range of populations. One of my focuses is gender-affirming voice training, in which I work with transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive individuals and groups to help each person develop their own authentic voice.

While I am cisgender, I am a proud member of the queer community and try to foster a safe space for personal exploration, which means that I am constantly reflecting and improving on my practices and the environment I have created.

What I Do

I work with each client to discuss their goals, assess their current voice, and create a plan to achieve a voice that is affirming while maintaining their vocal health. We discuss anatomy and vocal function, how to use different aspects of the voice to change the sound, and ways to apply these skills to their day-to-day life.

What Clients are Saying

"I feel more control over how I present myself. […] I'm making intentional progress instead of just wishing it was different."

“I started to accept my post-transition voice as a new instrument to play with, instead of being embarrassed that old vocal strategies no longer worked.”

About Me

I grew up outside of New York City. I moved to Western Mass for my undergrad, where I got a B.A. in psychology from Smith College. After working as a paraprofessional in New Hampshire for a few years, I returned to school at Teachers College at Columbia University to get my M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I spent two years working in schools and day habilitation facilities in the Boston area before returning to Western Mass again. I’ve worked in an elementary school in the area since 2019 and began doing voice work in 2024.

In my spare time, I participate in a local chorus, volunteer with a local non-profit focused on creating safe spaces for the queer community, bake, knit and crochet, and play with my cats, Moose and Squirrel.
